줄기세포가 뭔가요?

"줄기세포"는
우리 몸 각 부분에 소량으로 존재하고
또한 우리 몸을 항상 건강한 상태로
유지시키는 세포를 공급하는 중요한 역할을
담당하는 세포입니다.

"STEM CELLS" are present in small parts
of each part of our body, but they play
an important role in supplying cells that help
keep our bodies healthy all the time.

줄기세포에는 세가지가 있습니다

줄기세포는 크게 세가지로 나뉘는데요
① 배아줄기세포
② 유도만능줄기세포
③ 성체줄기세포가 있으며
성체줄기세포는 현재 국내에서 피부 미용 및
성형, 안티에이징 등에 사용되고 있습니다.

 There are three types of STEM CELLS:
Adult Stem Cells, Embryonic Stem Cells. and
Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells(iPS cell).
 Currently, Adult Stem Cells are the only ones
allowed to be used in skin cosmetics, anti-
aging treatments, and clinical and therapeutic
applications in South Korea.

배아줄기세포?

① 배아줄기세포는 수정란으로 만들어지는
줄기세포이며 체내 여러 조직과 기관으로
분화할 수 있다고 알려져 있습니다.
하지만 윤리적인 문제와 안전성의 문제로
상용화는 쉽지 않아 보입니다.

 Embryonic stem cells are made from
embryos. It is known to be differentiated
into various tissues and organs in the body.
 However, it is not easy to use it for direct
treatment because of ethical and safety
issues.

유도만능줄기세포?

② 유도만능줄기세포는 이미 분화된 세포를
재프로그래밍해서 배아줄기세포와 거의
동일한 특성으로 만들어낸 줄기세포이며,
현재는 미국과 일본 등 해외에서 연구가
진행되고 있습니다.
암으로 발전할 수 있어 안전의 문제해결이
선행되어야 상용화될 것으로 보입니다.

 iPS Cells(Induced pluripotent stem cells)
are cells that have been reprogrammed
to produce the same characteristics as
embryonic stem cells.
 Currently, research is underway in the US
and Japan.
 However, it can be developed into cancer,
so safety problems must be solved before
it can be used in the procedure.

성체줄기세포!

③ 성체줄기세포는
 *지방유래줄기세포, *골수유래줄기세포,
 *제대혈유래줄기세포, 이 세가지가 널리
 사용되고 있습니다.

 Adult stem cells include Adipose-derived
stem cells, Bone marrow-derived stem cells,
and Umbilical cord blood stem cells.
These three are the most commonly used.
